Since the year is coming to a close, and I am gearing up for a new workout change- I figured I should pass on some good advice. This year, there are lots of races such as Race for the Cure, Turkey Trot and DRC Half Marathon & 5K that are always shown on the news. I am a triathlete so you can often see me around volunteering, or participating in these events. I have actually used their couch to 5k program a few years ago when I trained for the Turkey Trot.
I want to pass along info on those who want to run a race. The Dallas Running Club (DRC) has great information on their website. Also they have and give you all the tools you need to succeed! From going to a couch potato to being a runner, or even a walker to a half marathon runner, its all free or very inexpensive. Check out their free programs here
If you become a member, which is less than 30 bucks a year, it includes lots of free races! Think of this as a Triple A card for runners. I get great discounts on shoes, and lots more. Its actually really handy!
