Bikers and Free Music Unite! April 27, 2011
Dallas Observer has info on a great night happening on thursday.
It happens every spring so consistently that we could mark it on our calendar: We seriously consider trading in our lifestyle of being caged in a gas-guzzling car for the open-air thrills, the drastically reduced petroleum consumption and the traffic-weaving efficiency of a motorcycle. Watters Creek, at Bethany Drive and U.S. 75 in Allen, has given us one more reason to do it: Bike Night 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. every Thursday beginning this week and continuing through October 27, with free live music, happy hours and other discounts from participating restaurants and vendors, and reserved parking for your crotch rocket or hog on Village Green Drive. Call 972-747-8000 or visit watterscreek.com.

The 17th Annual Deep Ellum Arts Festival
Fri, Apr 1 at 5:00 pm
Deep Ellum Arts Festival Grounds
Who says that Austin should have all the fun? As SXSW fades from memory, check out the 17th Annual Deep Ellum Arts Festival for one of the best parties that Big D has to offer. With over 75 local bands spread out on five stages, the six block street party will also have plenty of food, drinks, artists, dancers, painters and poetry. But let’s not forget the Pet Parade! Festival-goers will have a great excuse to dress their pooches up and parade them around the downtown area for a chance to win some great prizes and support Bark Park Central. The Deep Ellum Arts Festival runs Friday through Sunday.
The party goes from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Registration for the pet parade starts at 11 a.m. at the Deep Ellum Dog Park. The event is free to the public, but note that it is geared towards adults, so the youngins will have to be supervised.
For more information, call 214-855-1881 or visit meifestivals.com/deepspr.html.
